Catalog description

The Medical Assisting Internship course is the culminating course of the Medical Assisting Program. During a 160-hour internship students are provided with hands-on training and career-related experience. This course provides an extensive on-site experience in a physician's office, clinic, or other appropriate HLTHcare setting that allows the medical assisting student to utilize previously studied subjects and related skills. It gives the student the opportunity to put his/her class knowledge to practical use and to practice and enhance acquired skills. It provides students with valuable employment experience, increasing their marketability. Prerequisite: Departmental Permission. Offered: F, Sp, Su.
