Catalog description

This course is designed to prepare the student to sit for the Certified Processional Coding exam given by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). The course enables the student to conduct an in-depth study of diagnoses (ICD-10) and procedural (CPT-4) coding. The emphasis will be on accurately coding medical and operative reports using ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding guidelines and conventions. Prerequisite: Departmental Permission. Offered: F, Sp, Su.
