Effective Learning Environment

Catalog description

Effective learning environments foster SOCI, emotional, and academic development. Emphasis is placed on creating a culture that uses an equity lens based in evidence. SOCI emotional learning, culturally relevant teaching, restorative justice practices in school discipline, and trauma-informed systems approaches will be explored. Students will consider ways to eliminate barriers across systemic, institutional, and individual levels that contribute to inequitable access to learning.
