Catalog description
This Pharmacology course will introduce the student to the basic classifications of medications, their general action, use, and side effects. Students will learn and practice adult and pediatric dosage calculations and safe medication administration principles. Medication administration will be practiced in a laboratory under an instructor's direction before administering medication in the clinical setting. Legal implications of safe medication administration will be emphasized.
