Catalog description

This course is a 90-hour practical field experience and is the first of two Human Service Internship experiences. The course is based on the theories and learning outcomes associated with the overall human services curricula. It provides an opportunity for students to blend theory and practice through an actual supervised field experience at a human services organization. Students will be supervised in selected human service settings under the direction of the staff of the host organization and college faculty. Specific learning objectives for the experience will be developed through a collaboration of the student, host organization representative and faculty member. The 90 hours of field experience must be completed during the semester when the student is registered for this course, so students should plan their schedule accordingly.
