Catalog description

This course will provide an overview of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies used in human services. Students will gain the knowledge and competencies necessary to evaluate existing research and to plan and conduct their own research in human services. Students will learn to prepare, plan, utilize research methods, organize and compose research papers on significant human service issues. The role of previous research and theory, experience, observation and related literature that leads to the formulation of a hypothesis will also be explored. This knowledge will be applied to create a written research paper that will be presented in class. Prerequisite: ENG 101. Offered: F, Sp, Su.
