Funeral Service Internship

Catalog description
Students experience the daily activities of a funeral home under the direct supervision of an approved Preceptor. This course is designed to deepen students' understanding of how funeral service is practiced. Exposure to all aspects of funeral service is included. Requirements: participation in ten (10) embalmings, participation in a minimum of five (5) of each of the following: first calls, transfers of human remains, arrangement conferences, and funeral services as well as completion of fifteen (15) funeral service forms. The student is expected to secure the internship site, with the approval from the Program Director and faculty.
