Catalog description

This class covers an in-depth history of funeral service from ancient to contemporary time. Students build upon their knowledge of historical and cultural practices as it applies to funeral service. The course reviews the nomenclature of funeral goods, caskets, urns, outer burial containers, merchandising techniques, demonstration and use of the selection room, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Funeral Rule, and parameters of FTC compliant price lists.
