This course explores the social work profession and its ethical foundations, including the NASW Code of Ethics. Through a generalist practice lens, students examine a broad spectrum of human problems, intervention strategies, and professional practice settings, while applying a systems perspective to understand and address the needs of at-risk populations. Students also explore the profession's history, values, and the diverse career pathways it encompasses. Prerequisites: SWK 150 or HUS 200 with a “C” or better. Sociology
