Labor Law, Employee Relations, and Negotiation

Catalog description

This course provides an in-depth examination of labor relations, employee relations, and workplace negotiation practices within contemporary organizations. Topics include labor relations history, collective bargaining, labor law, grievance procedures, conflict resolution, workplace communication, employee engagement, negotiation tactics, and employee relations management. Students will analyze workplace scenarios, evaluate labor and employee relations strategies, and apply negotiation principles to organizational decision-making that supports effective communication, workforce collaboration, and organizational effectiveness. Prerequisite: HRM 330 or BSM 330 with a “C” or better.
