Capstone: Corrections and Rehabilitation

Catalog description

This course will serve as the capstone for students in the BAS Criminal Justice: Corrections and Rehabilitation program. Students will integrate and apply theoretical, legal, and ethical concepts from core coursework to real-world correctional and rehabilitative settings. Topics include ethical and evidence-based decision-making, correctional leadership and management practices, rehabilitation and reentry strategies, and criminal justice policy analysis. Students will develop an evidence-based strategic, programmatic, or operational implementation plan addressing a current issue in corrections or rehabilitation, culminating in a professional report, formal presentation, and reflective analysis of professional practice and leadership in the field. This course should be taken during the final term of a student’s degree program. Prerequisites: CRJ 303 and CRJ 385 with a “C” or better. Economics
