Catalog description

This course provides an introduction to criminal law, examining the nature and function of law, classifications of crime, and the policies and procedures that govern the administration of justice. Topics include the main components of the criminal justice system, foundational concepts that have shaped modern criminal justice, and a critical analysis of how law and policy intersect within the criminal justice process. Prerequisite: CRJ 100 or PLS 101 with a “C” or better.
