This course introduces the fundamental principles of newswriting in a professional journalistic context, emphasizing clarity, accuracy, and concision. Students develop reporting and news gathering skills, including interviewing, researching, writing leads, organizing stories, and using appropriate source attribution. The course also explores writing for digital and multimedia platforms, with students producing content across formats while applying industry standards of professional journalism. Prerequisite: COM 210.
