Introduction to Computer Concepts and Applications

Catalog description

This course introduces computing concepts and technologies for students across all disciplines. Topics include computer hardware and software systems, information systems fundamentals, and digital productivity tools for real-world applications. Students develop problem-solving and analytical thinking skills through hands-on experience with application software and multimedia computer programs, including spreadsheets, presentation systems, and database tools. The course also covers networking essentials, cybersecurity, data literacy, and the ethical and societal implications of computing. Prerequisite: MAT 095 or by placement.
