Introduction to Biological Research

Catalog description
This is a majors course designed to introduce students to the scientific research conducted in the biological sciences. Students will conduct hands-on research while learning a variety of skills important in Biology including: developing hypotheses, designing experimental methodology, and data collection and analyses. Students will write a comprehensive report in the format of a biological scientific journal. Laboratory exercises are related to lecture topics and biological research. This is the capstone course for the AS in Biology program and this course may only be used to satisfy the Area F requirement for Biology or General Studies majors. Prerequisites: BIO 211 with a “C” or better, and MAT 200. (BIO 212 is preferred but not required.)
