Catalog description

This course covers the structure and life cycle of stars, the classification and structure of galaxies, cosmology, and the early development of the universe. The student will be taught to work simple physics problems related to astronomy using basic algebra. Lab will cover an introduction to the concepts and methods of observational astronomy through the use of planetarium simulation software. Lecture 4.5 hours; Laboratory 1.5 hours. Prerequisite: MAT 095 or placement. Biology
