Catalog description
This course is designed to provide multiple scuba certifications for students planning to specialize in aquatic science and/or marine science environment(s). The course will include the academic background, the practical skills, and the applied real-world experience necessary for certification as Open Water Diver / Basic Scuba Diver, Advanced Diver, Nitrox Diver, and Coral Reef Conservation Specialty Diver certifications. Instruction will be provided via online delivery, in-person training in a local pool environment, and in-person training delivered in Florida. Demonstrating being comfortable in the water (see below). Demonstrating the ability to float or tread water for 10 minutes. Demonstrating the ability to swim 200 m/yds without aid or 300 m/yd with snorkel equipment. Demonstrating no medical contraindications to scuba diving. These are requirements of the scuba certifying agencies and cannot be waived under any circumstances.
