Catalog description

Candidates are required to use content knowledge and academic standards to plan, design and deliver high-quality instruction to students with exceptionalities, using student achievement and assessment data as their guide. Candidates will learn to plan, implement and assess developmentally appropriate and culturally inclusive instruction for students with exceptionalities based on knowledge of best practices for students with disabilities. Students will receive training and preparation in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEP) and Individualized Transition Plans (ITP). Candidates will be able to plan for the implementation of assistive technology. Candidates will demonstrate the ability to plan for an online learning environment for students with disabilities.
