Catalog description

This course begins with an examination of competing definitions of race and racism. Next, we explore the social histories of racial groups in the United States (African Americans, Native Americans, Asian Americans, Latinos, and Whites). Finally, we will use these theoretical and historical lenses to examine race relations focusing on several important contemporary issues.
