Care of the Older Adult

Catalog description

The focus of this course is to increase understanding and appreciation of normal aging processes and age-related physiological changes, as well as spiritual and psychosocial changes associated with aging. Emphasis is placed on healthy aging approaches, positive developmental attributes, and creative approaches that enrich life processes and encourage independence and function. The nurse's role in promoting culturally sensitive care for older adults, independent living, and healthy aging are also explored.
