Catalog description

Students will learn about specific health industry related stressors and explore skills that support thriving in their future careers. Students will be immersed in experiential learning activities designed to build student self-care capacity through mindful self-awareness, socio-emotional learning, critical thinking, stress coping, and self-regulation. This course also provides opportunities for students to explore socio-ecological perspectives of cultural values, beliefs, and practices related to health and well-being in society. Students will apply concepts learned in the classroom to explore their own values, beliefs, practices, and attitudes and envision a personal philosophy of self-care.
