Dynamics of Middle Grades

Catalog description

Candidates will learn about the organization and structure of middle schools as well as how to create a learning environment that encourages positive social interactions, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation. Candidates will explore the role and importance of family in students' learning, and there will be a special emphasis on social emotional learning, include an understanding of the ways in which the teacher's communication, expectations, knowledge, and pedagogy influence students' learning and efficacy.
