Catalog description

The course may not be used to satisfy requirements for mathematics major. Course outcome goals: After successfully completing this course, students will be prepared to teach algebra by being able to (1) Demonstrate knowledge of the content necessary for teaching algebra. (2)Demonstrate mathematical creativity and critical thinking by applying algebraic methods to solve a variety of mathematical problems using multiple representations. (3)Interpret and use mathematical language appropriately. (4)Use appropriate technology in the evaluation, analysis and synthesis of information in problem-solving situations. (5)Use algebraic applications and procedures to present methods, results and conclusions both in written and oral form. (6)Use mathematical models to represent and understand quantitative relationships (7) Understand patterns, relations and functions.(8)Represent and analyze mathematical situations using algebraic symbols (9)Analyze change in various contexts.
