Catalog description

Content includes topics such as social theories of infancy and childhood, macro- and micro-level methods for studying these stages, the effect of social change on infants and children's lives, peer cultures and interpretive reproduction, and other topics. Students taking this course will also analyze the role of social policies and politics in the lives of infants and children. Finally, aligning with the applied focus of the HUSE degree, students will develop understanding of the range of human services provided to infants and children. Course may include guest speakers and/or relevant site visits when possible.
