ENGL 1102 course must be completed with a grade of C or better. A survey of the major social, political, economic and cultural development in Europe between the French and Russian Revolutions, with an emphasis on political ideologies, social change, democratization, the growth of nationalism and the nation-state, industrialization, European global interactions and the spread of revolutionary ideas up through the early twentieth century.
