French Literature and Civilization in Translation

Catalog description

The course will chronologically follow the evolving geography, history, and artistic and intellectual movements of French-speaking areas of the world. While texts will be primarily read in English, linguistic and poetic features of the original works will also be explored. For this reason, students of FREN 3045 must have a basic familiarity with the French language. The course may be repeated for credit up to three times if the topics varies.
