Catalog description

Emphasis will be on understanding the pathophysiology of the condition, clinical assessment, and appropriate exercise prescription for these populations. Upon completing the course, students will be able to: -Explain the pathophysiology of cardiopulmonary, metabolic, neurological, and musculoskeletal diseases and disorders. -Describe how the acute responses and chronic adaptations to exercise differ in a clinical population as compared to an apparently healthy population. -Administer appropriate clinical assessments and interpret findings. -Apply exercise prescription principles to clinical populations for the purpose of maintaining or improving functional capacity.
