Catalog description
Laboratory experiences utilizing physiological principles during active participation in exercise are also included. Students enrolled in this course will learn to: (1) Describe the role and regulation of bioenergetics during exercise. (2) Explain the role of the endocrine, cardiovascular, respiratory, muscular and nervous systems in exercise. (3) Explain the adaptations that take place within the body as a result of chronic physical training and detraining. (4) Explain the influence of the environment on exercise and performance. (5) Apply the principles of exercise physiology to training for specific outcomes such as fitness or performance. (6) Demonstrate proficiency with laboratory equipment and tests.
