Catalog description

Students will explore texts on writing pedagogies and theory in order to gain insight into writing processes and the practices of effective writing instruction. This course has two parts: reading and writing formally about writing center discourse and completing an experiential learning component in which students engage in tutoring. At the conclusion of this course, students will develop an original research project tailored to their individual interests, utilizing primary and secondary research skills. In consultation with a faculty mentor, this course may count toward the internship requirement in English.
