Catalog description
Students will study authors, thinkers, and institutions critical to British Literature during an era characterized by empire and industry. Genres may include novels in a range of modes (e.g. realist, detective and gothic fiction), poetry, short stories, nonfiction and drama. In addition to examining major cultural influences, students will construct projects engaging the literary histories and/or legacies of the Victorian era.
