Catalog description

Works may include those from the Ancient Middle East, Rome and Greece, China's Early and Middle Periods, India's Golden Age and Medieval India and across Europe. While attending to culturally specific traditions, genres, conventions, concerns, and assumptions, the course explores how ancient and medieval works remain in dialogue with ongoing conversations about culture and the meanings or receptions of texts.
