Catalog description

This course covers the technical, policy, economic, regulatory, operational, and international relations aspects of how access to the radio spectrum is managed, shared, and protected. Students collaborate in interdisciplinary teams working on multidimensional problems, including as a capstone exercise filing in an FCC proceeding or making a similar contribution to another government process. Guest lectures by experts from industry and government enrich the course and provide opportunities for students to engage with DC-area organizations towards future internships or employment. The course is suitable for students with diverse backgrounds, including electrical engineering, computer science, business, law, policy, or spectrum operations, who are interested in a spectrum-related career.
