Catalog description

Provides an in-depth exploration of Local Area Network technologies, spanning from foundational principles to advanced configurations, including VLANs, inter-VLAN communication, loop prevention with protocols such STP, RSTP, and MSTP, as well as link aggregation and first-hop redundancy. LAN security concepts are covered and delves into advanced topics such as data center architecture, MPLS, and segment routing. The course format includes a lecture series focusing on basic switching techniques and protocols for low and high-speed digital packet networks, followed by hands-on laboratory exercises that involve configuring switches and routers to address real-life scenarios. Offered by Electrical & Comp. Engineering . May not be repeated for credit.
