Explores the “fall of communism” and how the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe have transformed since 1989. Through a variety of methods, explores survival and creation of new cultural and political practices within the market relations, commodification, and nationalisms in the post-Soviet era. Covers a wide range of topics such as nationalism, oligarchs, workers, gender, the self, religion, environmentalism, misinformation, memory of the socialist past, and Russia’s war in Ukraine. Offered by Modern & Classical Languages . Limited to three attempts.
