Student Managed Real Estate Fund. 3 credits

Catalog description

This course offers students the opportunity to act as student fund managers to source, underwrite, recommend and manage Fund investments in “real life” real estate projects through the affiliated Patriot Real Estate Funds (the "Fund"). The course aims to provide a return for its investors while supporting educational objectives. Students will be exposed to to real-world investment situations and obtain critical skills in underwriting, acquisition, asset management and dispositions. Students will also learn how to engage in a professional work environment and to expand their industry network by working with real-world professional counterparts. Students will be supervised by an investment committee set up by the Fund and by the Fund’s outside manager, the George Mason University’s Center for Real Estate Entrepreneurship.Offered by SBUS Multidisciplinary.
