Examines the phenomenological movement in philosophy from its origins in Husserl through developments of twentieth-century practitioners such as Ingarden, Heidegger, Merleau-Ponty, de Beauvoir, or Schutz. May also examine contemporary developments and influences of the phenomenological tradition, such as critical phenomenology. Attends to the value of phenomenology for engaging in social analysis.
