Catalog description
Students will explore the craft and art of music composition with a focus on the completion of an original student composition project. Student projects will be read or performed by an appropriate ensemble and unified by the same genre or mode of inquiry. Methods employed include readings, short technical exercises, score study, journaling, sketching, composition and revision, organization of reading sessions, and performance of pieces. Offered by Dewberry School of Music . May be repeated within the degree for a maximum 9 credits.
