Sociology of Music is an online course that is delivered in an asynchronous manner. Music is a social act, and to be an effective educator and/or musician, one should address these social issues in the classroom, stage, and studio. This course explores sociological perspectives as they relate to the teaching, learning, and performance of music. The theories and research of contemporary scholars will provide a framework for this exploration. As a result of this course, students will have developed a clear understanding of the sociological aspects in music. Offered by Dewberry School of Music . May not be repeated for credit.
