Students will gain familiarity with jazz pedagogical resources and methodologies, develop competence with private lesson pedagogical skills as well as become familiar with jazz ensemble rehearsal skills and techniques for both large and small jazz ensembles. They will be able to teach aspects of authentic jazz performance skills, to design a practical university level undergraduate jazz curriculum, and to develop the ability to present master classes within a broad scope of the jazz genre.
