Catalog description

Artificial intelligence is reshaping how organizations create value, serve stakeholders, and make decisions. This course equips business students to move from AI awareness to applied AI capability. Students master the concepts behind modern generative AI and build working applications in Python and Google Colab using industry tools including the OpenAI API, ChromaDB, Gradio, and n8n. The course has three parts. First, students build foundations in how large language models work, how APIs expose them, and how prompts shape behavior. Second, they construct practical applications, including chatbots and retrieval-augmented generation pipelines over business documents. Third, they design and deploy AI agents that use tools, maintain memory, and interoperate through open standards such as the Model Context Protocol. Throughout, students benchmark models across providers, evaluate outputs, and apply responsible AI practices to real business problems.Offered by Information Sys and Ops Mngmnt.
