Catalog description

This course is intended to introduce graduate students to the field of solid mechanics. The theories of elastic stress and strain are covered before moving on to inelastic behavior. Torsion and bending of solid and thin-walled bars are covered. Specialized topics include: buckling, fatigue and fracture mechanics. Offered by Mechanical Engineering . May not be repeated for credit.
