Finite Element Analysis for Solids. 3 credits
George Mason University · UGRD · Fall 2026
1 section
Catalog description
This course focuses on numerical solutions of elasticity/inelasticity and heat transfer. Strong and weak forms as general solution processes for differential equations are presented. Formulation of finite elements and interpolation functions and overall solution processes with the finite element method are covered. MATLAB programing is used for coding and in addition a modern (commercial) finite element code is discussed. Offered by Mechanical Engineering . May not be repeated for credit.
