Catalog description

This course is intended to introduce graduate students to the field of linear elasticity. The governing equations of linear elasticity are developed before solving the problems of plane elasticity. The course also covers boundary value problems and the Airy stress function method associated with plane elasticity. Specialized topics may include: three-dimensional problems, energy and numerical methods. Offered by Mechanical Engineering . May not be repeated for credit.
