This course provides a basic introduction to topology, the branch of mathematics concerned with the properties of a geometric object that are preserved under continuous deformations, such as stretching, twisting, crumpling, and bending. Topics studied include: fundamental topics such as metric spaces, topological spaces, compactness, connectedness, the fundamental group, and covering spaces. Offered by Mathematics .
