This seminar prepares MAIS students to develop and defend a formal proposal for their master’s thesis or applied project. Through structured workshops and guided faculty mentorship, students identify and refine a topic, conduct a literature review, develop an interdisciplinary framework, design an appropriate methodology or project plan, and prepare for a proposal defense. The course culminates in a written and oral defense of the student’s proposal before their faculty committee. The completed proposal serves as the foundation for the student’s culminating work in MAIS 798 (Project) or MAIS 799 (Thesis). Students must receive approval and formal sign-off from their full committee before beginning work in MAIS 798 /799. Offered by School of Integrative Studies . May not be repeated for credit.
