Catalog description

This seminar treats the law of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, both the Free Exercise and the Non establishment Clauses, and the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, using the leading textbook in the field (McConnell, Garvey and Berg), and some supplementary readings to keep the student abreast of this area’s continual evolution. There is also some treatment of history, religious freedom in connection with family law topics, natural law, international religious freedom law, and leading religions’ doctrines and teachings concerning religious freedom.Offered by Law. May not be repeated for credit.
