Catalog description

This course is an introductory class teaching students the history, goals, and strategies of public-interest litigation, as well as the nuts-and-bolts of effective public interest advocacy. During the course, students will learn how to draft a complaint, identify and contend with various doctrines such as ripeness and standing, and deal with ethical issues relevant to pro bono public interest representation. Grading is based primarily on a series of written assignments.Offered by Law. May not be repeated for credit.
