This course prepares students to compete in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (the "Moot"), held in Vienna, Austria. This an annual competition of teams representing law schools throughout the world. The Moot's goal is to foster the study of international commercial law and arbitration for the resolution of international business disputes and train future law leaders in methods of alternative dispute resolution. In this course, students will learn the most important sources of law for the competition - the U.N. Convention on the International Sale of Goods and the UNCITRAL Model Arbitration Law - and how to research and write the Memoranda. This course is about coaching only; competition registration, funding, travel, etc. are separate costs not covered by the school. This course comes with out-of-class credits.
