Global Food Justice. 4 credits

Food justice is both a scholarly field and a social struggle oriented towards achieving justice in the food system. This course investigates why injustice is much more common and explores best strategies for moving towards a more just food system. Students will analyze from a global perspective different theories of justice, power, and rights; understand the political and economic structures that shape the food system; and learn from the many grounded struggles to create food justice.
