Catalog description

Introduction to prevailing and emerging data standards applicable in health information technology. Students will learn about standard-making organizations, such as HL7 and Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel (HITSP), and their standardization processes. The structure of and relationship between standard terminologies applicable in healthcare, such as International Classification of Diseases (lCD-10-CM), Logical Observation Identifiers Names and Codes (LOINC) and Systematized Nomenclature of Medicine--Clinical Terms (SNOMED-CT), will be explained. Offered by Hlth Admin, Policy/Informatics . Limited to three attempts.
